August the 6th was a beautiful sunny day and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds show over White Rock beach in support of the CHILD Foundation was spectacular. Thousands watched the aerial feats of the nine-plane formations with distances as close as 4-feet wing overlap at speeds ranging from 185 km/h to 590 km/h during their exciting show comprised of 50 different maneuvers.

Rotarians from the South Surrey/White Rock Rotary clubs were there in support of CHILD and sold t-shirts and raffle tickets for of this important foundation founded in 1995. The volunteers also collected cash donations.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds (431Squadron) are Ambassadors to the CH.I.L.D. Foundation, the only charity so designated in Canada. Each year they perform an amazing aerial show at this free family event in different cities throughout British Columbia.

To show an appreciation for this free family show, people were able to ‘Text-to-Donate’ by simply texting the word SNOWBIRD to 41010 to make an automatic $10 donation to The CH.I.L.D. Foundation. This donation automatically appears on your next phone bill, it’s as easy as that!

In conjunction with the aerial demonstration, the Snowbirds’ pilots and crew graciously met local children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and their parents the day prior to the airshow.
